Coalescence
Lubovská, Karolína ; Příhoda, Jiří (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
The theme for my bachelor's thesis is the landscape surrounding a south Moravian village called Bavory. To put this environment into context, I was looking into its historical and geographical background. All of my efforts were focused on one section of my family's property. The property consists of vineyards and a dried-up spring. In one part of my work, I observe the everyday activity around this spring, and in the second part of my work, I focused on making an installation out of dead grapevines.
Generative growth
Zelený, Tomáš ; Vaněk, Vojtěch (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to emphasize the aesthetics of the support and also their functionality when placing objects into grown structures. Those objects seem fragile thanks to their chromaticity, but at the same time they need to be strong enough to hold the mass of diverse objects, such as piece of wood or stone. The aim of this thesis is so the scaffolding has its use in a real world. Scaffolding, that is now existing in the digital world, will pervade into the real world.

Molecular base of plant HSP90-MT interaction
Benáková, Martina ; Krtková, Jana (advisor) ; Malcová, Ivana (referee)
Microtubules (MTs) are one of the essential cell structure that participate in a number of key events in the plant cells and their properties and functions are influenced and modified by many other proteins. These proteins belong to a group of microtubule- associated proteins (MAPs, microtubule-associated proteins). One of the MAPs, the molecular chaperone Hsp90, examines and fulfills a large number of different functions in the cell. Its colocalization with MTs has been demonstrated previously by Freudenreich and Nick (1998) and Petrášek et al. (1998). However, direct interaction with MTs was described only recently using cosedimentation assay. The specific cytosolic isoform of tobacco Hsp90 bound to MTs was called Hsp90_MT due to its ability to bind MTs. It has been also found that the binding to MTs is independent on the activity of ATP (Krtková et al., 2012). The authors also described a positive effect of Hsp90_MT on MT recovery after their exposure to cold stress. Although MT cytoskeleton dynamics is influenced by a large number of MAPs, it is surprising that the molecular mechanism of MAPs interaction with MTs and their MT-binding domains have not been described yet. Therefore, we decided to determine the tobacco Hsp90_MT MT-binding domain by production of a set of recombinant proteins...
Polyploidy with specific view to paleopolyploidy and its detection
Kotz, Matěj ; Král, Jiří (advisor) ; Rothová, Olga (referee)
Polyploidy is a significant phenomenon in the evolution of eucaryotic organisms. It has been a subject of interest of biologists for decades and it has been studied particularly largely in plants, where it most often occurs. This thesis handles occurrence of poylploidy in organims and a special emphasis is laid on old polyploidization events occurrence of polyploidy in animal taxa. Furthermore, the types of polyploidy and obstacles are discussed here, that a polyploid organism has to tackle to stabilize its genome. That also includes the need to ensure the correct chromosome segregation in a meiotic division. A special case of polyploidy is paleopolyploidy (sometimes refered to as "ancient polyploidy" in English), which is an evolutionary old polyploidization event, that is followed by the process of diploidization. This process is characterized besides others by a large number of structural changes in chromosomes and a loss of some DNA sequences and a gradual transition of the polyploid genome to the cytologically diploid state. Because of these changes, it is difficult to detect a paleopolyploidy and the main part of this thesis is dedicated to this problem, in which the main approaches that might lead to its detection are discussed. Key words: polyploidy, animal, plant, meiosis, paleopolyploidy,...
Animals and plants in Italian and Czech phrases
Gábová, Renata ; Špaček, Jiří (advisor) ; Štichauer, Pavel (referee)
(in English): My Thesis analyses Italian and Czech phraseological units containing animal and plant themes. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with phraseology, idiomatic and basic terminology. The practical part deals with symbols, weather saying and the phraseological unit analysis based on their level of equivalency. The following chapters are analyzing morphological, lexical, syntactical and work-making point of view.

Drugs with teratogenic activity
Łuńská, Rut ; Tůmová, Lenka (advisor) ; Spilková, Jiřina (referee)
Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Hradec Králové Department: Department of Pharmacognosy Head of thesis: doc. PharmDr. Lenka T mová, Csc. Student: Bc. Rut Łu ská Title of the thesis: Teratogenic drugs The aim of this diploma thesis is to give an overview of teratogenic drugs. The work approaches the problems of teratogenesis, factors affecting teratogenicity, distribution of teratogens, classification of medication in pregnancy and methods of teratogenicity study. An overview of teratogenic plants broken down by family with manifestation of teratogenicity and substances responsible for teratogenicity is given here. Most teratogenic plants were found in the Fabacae, Compositae and Lamiacae families. Alkaloids and terpenes are most often responsible for teratogenic effects. In addition, the work focuses on the negative effects of cannabis, tobacco smoking and caffeine on the course of pregnancy. Keywords: teratogen, medicinal plant, drug, pregnancy
